Munaga Vithanalu-Moringa Seeds-Drumsticks Seeds
Moringa is an important food source in some parts of the world. It can be grown cheaply and easily, and retains much of its nutritional value when dried. As an antioxidant, it seems to help protect cells from damage. Moringa might also help decrease inflammation and reduce pain.
The ideal temperature for growing this Moringa is 21-35°C. This sun-loving plant doesn't mind shade either. The best time to sow the Moringa seeds is from March-May or July-October. Keep the plant hydrated at all times, cover it with mulch to help it retain moisture.
Most of the seeds should germinate within two weeks. A few will take a much longer time. If the seeds do not germinate, remove them and replant with new seeds.
Sow two seeds per pit at a depth of 2.5-3.0 cm. The seeds can also be sown in the poly bags containing pot mixture and transplanted after 35 -40 days of sowing. Dig pits of size 45 cm x 45 cm x 45 cm with a spacing of 2.0 - 2.5 m either way. Apply 15 kg of compost or FYM/pit after mixing with top soil.
