Andhra Idli Ravva-1 Kg Packs. Rava idli is a variation of the popular South Indian breakfast item idli, made with rava, Bombay rava that is broken rice and broken wheat in the form of very tiny pieces.

idli rava is prepared with rice but has a coarse texture similar to rava or semolina. in other words, 'Rava' basically refers to powder, somewhat coarse, used in cooking savouries/snacks. 'Bombay rava' means 'sooji' in Hindi, used for making 'upma' or 'halwa', while 'Idli rava' is used for making idlies. The English translation for the Hindi word 'rava' is Semolina.

Made from urad dal and rice, this soft puff of rice is a healthy treat due to its lightness and its nutritional content. Idli is said to be light as it contains no fats, saturated fats or cholesterol.

Steaming process – There are 3 ways to steam the idlis – using a South Indian Idli cooker, pressure cooker or an Instant Pot. Overcooking idlis make them hard. Irrespective of which device you use, 10 minutes should be sufficient time to steam idlis.

If the idli/dosa batter is too thick, your dosas are going to be white. Try diluting a little with water. Don't add too much water. Just a few tablespoons at a time.
